They moved the series to the PSP to chase a wider audience for that type of title - they just didn't want to admit why they actually did it for some reason. The engine was already built and they already had a solid base of art assets. I seriously doubt that Valkyria Chronicles II and III cost substantially less to make for the PSP than they would have for the PS3. Yes, I know I'm oversimplifying things, but it doesn't have to be anywhere near as expensive as some of these developers make it out to be when coming up with excuses for why their titles aren't on the HD systems. Use similar art assets to what you've been using with a few more polys on the models and display it at a higher res. Not every game has to be a graphical tour de force. People complain constantly that it's too expensive to develop for the HD consoles but it doesn't have to be. Five + years in HD and still no Persona title.

Really made me want a new Persona game, though. It's no RPG, but it's definitely a lot of fun. I mean, it's really an action puzzler + an adventure game. Does Catherine count as a JRPG? That's coming out this July and I've pre-ordered it already.
